FAQ's (frequently asked questions)
Q: Where do I pick up the bike?
A: We will pick you up at your hotel or B&B and transport you to our shop in Anchorage.
Q: How do I know if the bike I want is available for the dates I want?
A: Call or email us for current availability. We will "hold" a bike for 5 days while you finalize travel plans.
Q: Can I ride anywhere?
A: Not quite! You may travel as far North as the Arctic Circle on the dual sport (GS) models. Travel beyond the Arctic Circle is restricted and requires a $500.00 surcharge, a 7 day minimum rental, as well as an understanding that roadside assistance is not available. The Roadsters (R1150R) must stay on paved routes.
Q: Do you rent helmets?
A: We have a few helmets that we rent for $5.00 per day that are available
on a first come basis. Your own helmet probably fits better. Full
coverage helmets are recommended. Helmet use is mandatory.
Q: Do the bikes have saddle bags, windshields?
A: Yes. All bikes are equipped for touring. They also have tool kits. Most have heated grips and hand guards.
Q: Are the bikes in good condition?
A: Yes.
Q: Can you store our extra luggage for us while we're on tour?
A: Yes. We do it all the time.
Q: Do you provide jackets, rain suits, boots etc.?
A: Sorry, too many clients, too many sizes. Bring your own gear.
Q: Is a rental day 24 hours?
A: A rental day typically begins in the AM and ends in the PM. We are open
7 days a week.
Q: Is it safe to ride alone in Alaska?
A: Yes. The paved roads are well maintained, well marked, and Alaskans
are very friendly, however some are a bit quirky! Unpaved
roads should not be traveled alone.
Q: What if the bike breaks down?
A: We provide roadside assistance within Alaska below the Arctic
Circle. If we cannot repair your bike in a timely fashion, we will provide
a replacement bike if one is available. If you wreck the bike we are
not obligated to provide you a replacement.
Q: Can we take the bikes out of Alaska? Canada?
A: You can travel into Canada if you let us know in advance.
Q: What about insurance?
A: Comprehensive insurance is included in the rental price. However you
are responsible for all damage to the motorcycle, including traffic
accidents, dropping the bike, and rock damage up to $1,000. Rock damage is NOT considered a
normal wear item.
Most insurance policies do not cover rented motorcycles, but a few do. You
are encouraged to check with your personal insurance provider.
